<p>The <strong>Development Project Leader </strong>will help the Development Department secure grants; cash donations; in-kind donations; and create tools, systems, and databases to help cultivate donors and support. He or she will also provide support in creating communications materials and strategies. The VISTA will develop efficient systems for:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Donor cultivation:</strong> The VISTA will develop systems connected to donor research and outreach. He or she will support the Young Friends of YouthBuild Philly (YFYB) with engagement efforts including volunteer opportunities, fundraising events, and attending school activities in efforts to grow support base. The project will be deepened by using historical data to evaluate success trends.</li>
<li><strong>Social media support:</strong> work with communications team to develop engaging content for social media platforms, as well as manage Young Friends of YouthBuild Philly social media accounts in coordinator with YFYB Board members.</li>
<li><strong>Tracking grant trends and deadlines:</strong> Establish a system to evaluate and keep track of grant deadlines. In addition, the VISTA will look at historical data to establish recruitment benchmarks.</li>
<li><strong>Create communication/promotional material:</strong> The VISTA will develop materials that will support our outreach efforts.</li>

<p>Job Description</p>
<p>The Employment Success Manager is an exciting new position focused on increasing the success and retention of alumni in employment during the year after graduation. The primary responsibilities of this position include managing employer partnerships, generating new relationships in a variety of employment opportunities, and collaborating with team members for the purpose of matching/coaching alumni and current students with jobs. In addition, the Manager will serve as a resource to program staff for designing employment opportunities for students/alumni (including year-of-service programs, such as AmeriCorps). Finally, the Manager will design and oversee a career-mentoring experience for current students in the first year of the program (this oversight includes the supervision of some of the School’s AmeriCorps staff members).</p>
<p>The successful candidate should be excited by the concept that this position will continue to evolve to meet the needs of alumni/students.</p>
<p>The regular hours for this position are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., flexibility required for periodic evening and weekend events.</p>
<p>Qualifications</p>
<p>YouthBuild Philadelphia requires the following qualifications for this position:</p>
<p>§ Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university</p>
<p>§ Act 34, 114 and 151 criminal background clearances</p>
<p>§ At least three years of experience in employer relations, career services, youth workforce development and/or postsecondary preparation</p>
<p>§ Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as an ability to integrate a wide-range of technology and data management into daily work</p>
<p>§ High level of professionalism and customer-service skills</p>
<p>§ Strong communication skills and ability to present to large groups</p>
<p>§ Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented project completion skills.</p>
<p>Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate:</p>
<p>§ Ability to initiate, develop, maintain, enhance, and evaluate partnerships with external organizations that lead to paid employment for alumni/students</p>
<p>§ Desire to focus primarily on working with business, government and nonprofit organizations, designing program elements and working directly with alumni/students (Note: this position will balance focus on external partnerships, program design, and direct service to alumni/students)</p>
<p>§ Ability to initiate contact with partners, alumni or inactive students who are not conveniently available in the school building on a regular basis</p>
<p>§ Ability to work collaboratively with School team members and staff members in other departments (who are not direct reports) to attain the department’s placement and retention metrics</p>
<p>§ Ability to collect, analyze, and report data to tell meaningful stories of the alumni’s success in their employment situations</p>
<p>§ Desire to operate in a highly flexible work environment and the ability to work occasionally at night, on weekends, or at other variations in regular work hours</p>
