The conference will be March 28th at William & Mary in Williamsburg, VA. Our 2020 theme is Now What? with a focus on concrete actions attendees can take inspired by their conference experience.

We are accepting proposals for our 50 minute workshops through February 21 with priority consideration through January 31: https://www.wm.edu/offices/oce/active-citizens-conference/conference_proposals/index.php.

This year we are able to offer below-cost registration for the conference. Registration is open through March 13:

  • $20 for four year institution students
  • $25 for fac/staff and community partners
  • $10 for presenters
  • $10 for community college students

The Active Citizens Conference is a space for educating, uniting, and inspiring active citizen undergraduates. Along with a keynote speaker and democratic dialogue, there will be 15 workshop sessions, many led by students and staff advisers.  The past few years of program guides are available (https://www.wm.edu/offices/oce/active-citizens-conference/conference-sessions/index.php), and here are a few examples of workshops:

This year we are featuring a new dialogue experience for all attendees and sessions including: how to start a 501(c)(3), service and ethics, and active citizenship 101.

Submit a workshop proposal by February 22. Conference workshops are 50 minutes long, and proposals from faculty, staff, students, and community members are welcome.

Register for the conference by March 14.  Registration covers this one-day conference including breakfast and lunch. Student registration is only $60 and faculty/staff registration is $75.
