The Organizing Center’s self-paced workshops are designed to move at your pace and respond to your specific challenges without taking you out of your work.

Coalitions bring together organizations with different interests, access to resources, and relationships to power to work on a shared campaign. These organizations are stronger together and more prone to disagreement. This workshop supports participants to dig into questions of purpose, strategy and decision-making, among others, to get clarity about why they’ve experienced disagreement in their coalition. Participants will have time to learn tools to disagree well and navigate tension in ways that are generative and instrumental in advancing our collective efforts to win big and shift conditions for our people.

As more and more people become politicized during this moment, we yearn to bring them into our organizations so we can build power and win. But more often than not our organizations are not ready for this influx of people. This workshop teaches the fundamentals of creating leadership development structures & roles that support members to lead in our organizations and stay in our movements for the long-haul.​

Organizing is about listening to people, identifying what they care about, presenting a vision for what is possible, and moving people to action. It is also about bring in people that don’t agree with us on everything. To build a bigger “we,” we need to identify ways to connect with people across difference, focusing on where there is common ground.

This workshop offers an outline and tools for having organizing conversations that move people  to collective action. ​
