Through a wicked problem approach, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about local initiatives and actively engage in planning for increased collaboration in that area.

Keynotes and additional workshops will include: key indicators/models for success in cross-sector collaboration, and centering healing and trauma in our collective work.

Registration opens in March.

Engage for Change is a regional conference that connects local community engagement practitioners​, including ​faculty, students,​ and​ community organizations​. The aim is to share​ best practices​ across institutions ​and​ methods for advancing this work in the Capital Region. This year, the theme for this conference is, “Creating Equitable Spaces.”

​We welcome presentations in the following areas:

  • Hands-on demonstrations of teaching techniques
  • Presentations on community engaged classes and research
  • Best practices in community-university partnerships
  • Roundtable discussions on campus/community strategies

]]> National Assessment of Service and Community Engagement https://phennd.org/update/national-assessment-of-service-and-community-engagement/ Tue, 23 Jun 2015 02:18:04 +0000 https://phennd.org/?post_type=update&p=45035 The Siena College Research Institute is hosting a free webinar on June 30th at 2pm to discuss findings from the National Assessment of Service and Community Engagement (NASCE). The NASCE is a web-based survey of undergraduates that measures an institution’s overall level of community engagement by evaluating the rate, frequency, and depth of student community service. To date, the NASCE survey has been completed by nearly 50,000 students from more than 70 distinct institutions, making it one of the largest existing datasets focused specifically on community engagement in higher education.

Please join NASCE co-creator and Director of the Siena College Research Institute, Dr. Don Levy, on June 30th at 2pm for this informational webinar about the survey instrument, methodology, and implications of the data.

This year the subtheme of the conference is “Food Access and Food Security.” there will be a regional Food Access Expo and and panel presentation by local nonprofit and faculty experts on Food Access in the Capital Region and Beyond.
