										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Roddenberry Fellowship invites applications</p>
<p>Launched in 2016, the Roddenberry Fellowship awards United States-based activists, leaders, and disruptors responding urgently and creatively to structural inequities and an enduring climate of increased enmity and blame.</p>
<p>The 12-month program will provide up to 20 fellows with a $50,000 grant and access to a community of peers. Fellows may be working on a range of issues affecting the U.S., including but not limited to the following areas: civil rights, environmental protection, immigration and refugee rights, LGBTQIA and women’s rights, health and wellness, etc.</p>
<p>To be eligible, applicants must be founders or co-founders of and currently hold the CEO, executive director, or equivalent position in their organizations, which must have annual budgets of under $2 million and be in existence for fewer than four years. Individuals must be over the age of 18 and be a U.S. citizen, permanent resident, DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) recipient, or current visa holder.</p>
<p>All eligible applicants and nominees are invited to submit a short application via the online portal by June 16, 2023. Upon review, a select group of applicants will be invited to share more detailed information about themselves and their work via the online portal from July 31, 2023 to August 25, 2023.</p>

<p>Launched in 2010, the Roddenberry Foundation is committed to finding and supporting remarkable people and organizations that can disrupt existing dynamics, challenge old patterns of thought, and discover new ways to help us move toward a better future. To that end, the foundation provide grants to accelerate the development of great untested ideas and models that are challenging the status quo and improving the human condition.</p>
<p>To advance this mission, the foundation is inviting applications for its inaugural Roddenberry Fellowship program.</p>
<p>Through the program, twenty individuals from across the United States will each receive $50,000 to pursue a project or initiative in the fields of civil rights, climate change and environmental justice, immigration and refugee rights, and/or LGBTQIA and women&#8217;s rights. In addition to the funds, the fellowship includes tailored support for each activist as he or she launches a new initiative or amplifies an existing early-stage project. Five fellows will be selected in each of the issue areas.</p>
<p>First-found applications must be received no later than August 22, 2017. Upon review, selected applicants will be invited to submit a second-round application in September. Fellows will be announced in December 2017, and the one-year program will begin in January 2018.</p>
