Eleven Chestnut Hill businesses are teaming up to host PIHN on the Hill Day, a community shopping and dining event on Sunday December 10, 2017 from 12-5 PM benefiting Philadelphia Interfaith Hospitality Network (PIHN), an area congregational- based shelter, supportive services, housing and advocacy program for local families experiencing homelessness. The participating retail stores are offering refreshments, holiday cheer and donating a portion of sales to PIHN’s homelessness prevention, supportive services, shelter and housing programs for at-risk families. Retail shops on Germantown Ave. include Artisans on the Avenue (8440), Bohemian Pink (8617), J.McLaughlin (8401), Mango (8442), Quelque Chose (8437), Threadwell (8432) Ten Thousand Villages (8331), Windfall Gallery (7944) Chill on the Hill, right around the corner from Germantown Ave, (5 E. Highland Ave) joins the fun dishing out treats to benefit PIHN. Tavern on the Hill (8636) is hosting brunch and lunch and Iron Hill Brewery (8400) is opening its doors all day through 9 PM with a “Give 20” dining day for PIHN.

“Chestnut Hill is one of my favorite places for holiday shopping”, said Cynthia LaLone, PIHN on the Hill event organizer “Here’s an opportunity to shop local, delight loved ones with gifts, and make a difference for our neighbors in need. For an extra special treat, shoppers will be serenaded by carolers and singers. Each host store will offer some refreshment or treat. I feel very fortunate to live in the Northwest corner of Philadelphia, in such a caring community!”

PIHN is also sponsoring its annual “Adopt a Santa” holiday match with local families in need. For more information on being matched with a family or even just one child, please contact office@philashelter.org or call Keyonnee Thalia at 215-247-4663 (ext 139).
