<p>The University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education (Penn GSE) is offering <i>TESOL Essentials: Getting Started</i>, a 9-week online course that includes a basic introduction to English language teaching<i>. TESOL Essentials: Getting Started</i> is ideal for those who are:</p>
<ul>
<li>Interested in teaching English throughout the world</li>
<li>Considering a career in TESOL</li>
<li>Currently teaching or tutoring learners of English</li>
</ul>
<p>Through participation in synchronous online video sessions (90 minutes per week), and independent reading and group discussions (3-4 hours per week), you will learn essential skills for teaching English in domestic and international contexts. No prior experience in teaching TESOL or other subjects is necessary. This course is open to all educators, learners, and leaders worldwide.</p>
<p>This course meets once per week for online meetings. Two sections of the course will be offered in Fall 2019:</p>
<p>Section 1 &#8211; Tuesday Online Meetings from 7-8:30am Eastern Time<br />
Section 2 &#8211; Saturday Online Meetings from 1pm-2:30pm Eastern Time</p>
