Titled “A Decade of ERPO: What Does the Evidence Say About the Use, Effectiveness and Opportunities for Improving Implementation and Impact of this Important Firearm Violence Prevention Tool,” the collection was led by guest editors Joshua Horwitz, JD, co-director of the Johns Hopkins Center for Gun Violence Solutions, and Shannon Frattaroli, PhD, MPH, a core faculty member at the Center.

This collection highlights three key areas of focus:

  • How ERPO laws are implemented and what drives successful implementation
  • Methods for measuring ERPO effectiveness and impact
  • Evidence-informed recommendations for strengthening policy design and practice

Together, these articles provide a foundation for the next decade of ERPO research and policy development.
