										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Summertime at Germantown Friends School (GFS) invites kids of all ages to explore their gifts, skills, and talents in a safe and fun</span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">environment. The Summer Camps team is seeking experienced Camp Counselors to support GFS </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Summer Camps for Lower School students (Rising K &#8211; 5th Graders).</span></p>
<p><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Sr. Counselors are an integral part of the camp experience and act as GFS Summer Camp lead teachers. </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">They ensure the other camp counselors understand the plan for the day, check with the Day Camp </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Coordinator and Summer Camps Director on logistics for the day, and speak into all camp-related </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">activities for their age group. They also help prepare, supervise, and mentor student counselors who are </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">integral to the success of the camp. They are expected to work approximately 35 hours per week </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">(Monday &#8211; Friday).</span></p>
<p><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>
<ul>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Facilitate and revise daily theme-based, age-appropriate activities (movement, arts, outdoor </span><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">play, etc.)</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Manage supply lists and inventory</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Manage weekly / twice weekly communications to parents summarizing camp activities</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Give support to campers who might benefit from reminders &amp; redirection</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Supervise, offer mentorship and constructive feedback to student counselors</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Effectively communicate with other summer camp counselors and staff</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Engage fully in Summertime at GFS, sharing your passion for teaching, learning, and leading</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">QUALIFICATIONS</span></p>
<ul>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Must be 18 years or older to apply</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Must have (or be willing to obtain) PA Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance, and PA Criminal</span><br role="presentation" /><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Background Check</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Must be CPR/First Aid Certified</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">3-5 years experience working with elementary-aged children, preferred</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Experience in summer camp or other Out-of-School-Time settings, preferred</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Ability to work with adults and children from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Flexible, agile, able to work in fast paced environments</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Excellent and timely communication skills</span></li>
<li><span dir="ltr" role="presentation">Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to work in mentorship relationships</span></li>

<p>The position is for 30-35 hours per week, Monday-Friday, for the full school day (approximately 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.). A parent or guardian will be in the home throughout the day. The pay is $500/week. Guides are welcome to work for additional hours for which parents will pay the guides separately.</p>
<p>Guides will support students in person with all aspects of the learning process, including logging onto the Google Classroom, navigating activity links, submitting Flipgrid and Seesaw assignments, assisting in viewing asynchronous videos, and generally ensuring that a student understands the concepts being taught. Additional duties might include going on a walk outside or engaging in other fun and enriching activities. Learning Guides are not permitted to cook, clean (other than to keep the student&#8217;s supplies and work space neat and organized), or do any household chores.</p>
<p>Families and Learning Guides will work out a mutually agreeable plan for addressing all COVID-19-related mitigation strategies, including masks, hand-washing, workspace hygiene, social distancing, ventilation, and any other considerations mutually relevant to them.</p>
