They will be held at 6pm at Finanta’s Philadelphia office at 1301 North 2nd Street.</p>
<p dir="ltr">The Affinity Group Lending program provides credit building, business technical assistance, and loans to group members with similar financial challenges and limited financial/business knowledge. Each group is made up of 6-15 individuals and throughout the cycle each group member:</p>
<ul>
<li dir="ltr" role="presentation">Works one-on-one with a lender to create a Financial Action Plan</li>
<li dir="ltr" role="presentation">Receives a loan of $1,200 to $3,600 on the first borrowing cycle</li>
<li dir="ltr" role="presentation">Attends group workshops throughout the year on topics such as bookkeeping, credit building, financial literacy, marketing, and balancing family life while running a business</li>
<li dir="ltr" role="presentation">At the end of the loan cycle, entrepreneurs have the opportunity to start a new loan within the program, or &#8220;graduate&#8221; to a small business loan at Finanta.&#8221; And then start the process again if they&#8217;d like!</li>
</ul>
<p dir="ltr">Finanta is a thirty-year-old CDFI whose mission is to improve lives and create economic mobility for individuals, families, and small business owners. It provides flexible loans and financial training to those traditionally left out of the economic mainstream through a loan fund and a credit union to help low-income populations create lasting change in their communities and put down roots.</p>

<p>Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania</p>
<p>II. POSITION SUMMARY</p>
<p>The Business Loan Officer (BLO) generates, underwrites, and settles FINANTA loans. The BLO services a loan portfolio of microenterprises and small businesses; provides technical assistance to borrowers on an ongoing basis; and assists with the expansion and development of FINANTA&#8217;s lending programs and products.</p>
<p>III. BACKGROUND</p>
<p>FINANTA&#8217;s individualized technical assistance and financing solutions provides our clients — mostly under- or un-banked individuals — with the means to build credit and develop economic self-sufficiency over time. FINANTA was founded in 1996 and in its history has settled over 750 loans totaling $38.7 million. FINANTA is certified by the U.S. Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) and a Community Development Entity (CDE), by the U.S. Small Business Administration as a Microloan Intermediary, by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a CDFI, and by the Pennsylvania Housing Finance Agency&#8217;s as a residential lender for the Home Purchase program.</p>
<p>IV. RESPONSIBILITIES</p>
<ul>
<li>Develop a plan to increase customer base and build strong referral relationships city-wide</li>
<li>Assess and identify loan prospects; manage referrals from intake to settlement</li>
<li>Assist clients throughout the application process providing hands-on technical assistance at all stages</li>
<li>Support program impact tracking by inputting results in the loan servicing software (TEA), i.e. jobs created/retained, assets gained, credit score improvement, etc.</li>
<li>Perform client site visits and default/foreclosure assistance as needed</li>
<li>Understand and support FINANTA&#8217;s mission, and align work and values accordingly</li>
<li>Follow policies and procedures, complete tasks correctly and on time, contribute to lending goals/objectives</li>
<li>Approach others in a tactful manner, react appropriately under pressure, and accept responsibility</li>
<li>Follow instructions, respond to directions, keep commitments, understand level of confidentiality required by the position, and show flexibility in working schedule to meet organization&#8217;s and customer priorities</li>
<li>Tend to evening and weekend work as needed, including local events and conferences</li>
</ul>
<p>V. REQUIREMENTS</p>
<ul>
<li>An Associate&#8217;s or Bachelor&#8217;s degree in related field</li>
<li>At least one (1) year or more experience in mission-driven lending</li>
<li>Expertise in personal credit review and counseling</li>
<li>Strong analytical skills</li>
<li>Experience in business underwriting and analysis</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>
<li>Loan document preparation experience</li>
<li>Microsoft Office and loan servicing software expertise</li>
<li>Individual and team work</li>
<li>Detail and accuracy essential</li>
<li>Valid Driver&#8217;s License</li>
<li>Travel required (approximately 25%)</li>
<li>Spanish language proficiency preferred; other language proficiency to be considered</li>
</ul>
