Community School, Philadelphia is seeking an extraordinary Secondary Special Education Teacher to work in our vibrant, innovative school. We are a private school whose mission is to serve students in the child welfare system who are off track to graduating timely. Our school team is comprised of experienced and dedicated professionals working in an environment that blends strong academics with social and emotional supports to inspire critical and creative thinking, confidence, and a resilient community of learners. Our students are over-age for grade level, under-credited, and at high risk of dropping out. CBCS-P is a “second chance” school that serves 65 students who can earn their high school diplomas and reach their fullest potential through a flexible, competency-based curriculum.

We are looking for an experienced Secondary Special Education Teacher who has a passion to teach and work with our students who benefit from caring, trauma-informed school team members who maintain a rigorous and relevant bar for learning. The ideal candidate can create a space where students engage in deep thinking about their strengths and desires to help them overcome obstacles and find pathways to their futures.
