The Clif Family Foundation was established in 2006 to support grassroots groups with inspiring ideas and limited funds.

To that end, the foundation invites applications for its grants program, through which operational support grants will be awarded. Priority will be given to applicants that demonstrate strong community ties; operate within viable and clearly defined plans for positive change; and address two or more funding priorities at the same time, which may include strengthening the food system, enhancing equitable community health outcomes, and safeguarding the environment and natural resources.

Applicants must be based in the United States and be tax-exempt as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or have a fiscal sponsor with such status.

The Saucony Run For Good Foundation is committed to improving the lives of children by helping to prevent and reduce childhood obesity. According to the foundation, today’s American youth are considered the most inactive in history. As a result, the rate of obesity among U.S. children and teenagers has more than tripled over the past three decades.

To that end, Saucony is inviting grant applications to help run down the childhood obesity epidemic. Grants of up to $10,000 will be awarded to community nonprofit organizations that promote running and fitness programs for children. Program participants must be 18 or younger, and the foundation will prioritize programs that serve populations not traditionally exposed to running programs.

Applicants must be tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code to be eligible.

The J. Lewis Crozer Library and Chester Eastside, Inc. have a shared purpose to empower, enrich, and enhance the quality of life for the communities of Chester by providing inclusive and engaging pathways to literacy and learning as well as equitable access to information, services, and opportunity. In collaboration, the organizations are seeking a dynamic individual who is passionate about youth literacy and supporting caregivers in their child’s development to serve Chester’s growing Hispanic/Latino population.

Position Details:

Grant funded; non–exempt; part time; 30 hours per week; 3:00 – 6:00 pm Monday – Friday; 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Tuesday – Friday; some Saturdays and evenings; health insurance stipend. This position assists with the implementation of bilingual programming and services at the J. Lewis Crozer Library and providing afterschool academic support for elementary school students at Chester Eastside, Inc. (CEI). Supervision is received from the Library Director and the CEI Executive Director.

Position Summary:

Under the general direction of organizations’ Directors promotes and supports the commitment that all people should have access to education, technology, services, and materials that are necessary to participate in our society. Responsible for the successful implementation of bilingual initiatives for the J. Lewis Crozer Library and Chester Eastside, Inc. Assists in all aspects of academic, general and technical support to students and library patrons of all ages including outreach programs and services to communities in Chester. Works collaboratively with library and CEI staff to oversee and maintain bilingual print and digital collections.

About 15% of land in urban cities is deemed vacant or abandoned which can lead to many negative outcomes for surrounding neighborhoods, including decreases in physical & mental health and diminished feelings of safety & security. Lots of Compassion aims to provide resources to those seeking to transform vacant lots in their neighborhood into gardens for community growth.

In 2023, 10 grantees will receive $20,000 each to transform a vacant lot into a garden. A total of $200,000 will be awarded annually.

Community Organizers work 3-4 hours per week, are paid $15 per hour, and co-lead city-based Chapters of the Civic Service Fellowship. Working within teams of 4-5, COs onboard Fellows, co-facilitate virtual weekly organizing sessions, and support Fellows in 15-20 high schools to lead their own actions. We are eager to hire Community Organizers (COs) to refine our model, lead our work, and support Civic Service Fellows to lead actions. COs will join a team that supports thousands of Fellows, registers tens of thousands of students to vote, and creates sustainable, student-led spaces in high schools across the U.S.

As a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Community Organizers also receive voting rights in Rhizome. This includes the ability to discuss and vote on goals, vision, and changes to our work environment. COs also vote to approve nominees to our Board of Directors, and to decide unified actions we take in future years. Time spent in strategic conversations will be compensated fully, as COs receive hands-on insight around nonprofit leadership, build leadership skills, and learn how democratic decision-making works.

RADx® Underserved Populations (RADx-UP) represents a significant investment by the National Institutes of Health to address the COVID-19 pandemic and health equity in underserved populations. The RADx-UP Consortium is an organization of 137 community-engaged research project teams and mini-grant recipients across all 50 states, and U.S. territories and Tribal Nations.

For those looking for resources on youth mental health, we are sharing a new podcast and listening guide to support your work. In Conversations with Sydney, a solutions-oriented podcast, journalist Micah Fink and his teenager, Sydney, discuss their experiences with mental health and explore effective ways for parents, teens, schools, and communities to respond to teen mental health crises and suicide. The Access and Equity Advisor will be responsible for helping a cohort of students throughout their middle school and/or high school experience. This position provides individual advising and conversations, as well as supporting them through making positive academic and extracurricular decisions. The Access and Equity Advisors will also work closely with peers to support student recruitment into dual enrollment, internship and summer opportunities provided by the organization. This is a Monday through Friday position with occasional weekend hours and will be based at partner middle and/or high schools.

The College Access and Equity Coordinator is responsible for implementing programming in partnership with School District of Philadelphia principals, administrators and staff. This school-based position coordinates and delivers rigorous academic enrichment, college-readiness and career development activities to middle and high school students. Additionally, this role is a critical lever in the organization’s efforts to support middle school students of color in accessing criteria-based secondary school. The position maintains hours similar to school-based staff, reporting Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend hours.

The event and operations specialist will be responsible for executing high-impact virtual and in-person events to deliver on Campus Compact’s mission and support member campuses.

The event and operations specialist will report directly to the Campus Compact president and will be a key contributor to the delivery of programming for Campus Compact members. They will lead project management and execution of marquee in-person events (including the annual Campus Compact national conference) and virtual programming. The Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA program is a nationwide anti-poverty initiative focused on building the capacity of campuses and their community partners to contribute to local solutions that impact the lives of individuals who live in poverty. Under the direct supervision of the Campus Compact AmeriCorps VISTA Program Director, the Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator is part of a highly collaborative team who is responsible for program implementation and program expansion. The Outreach & Recruitment Coordinator will be instrumental in establishing partnerships, relationships, and practices both to expand the program’s national footprint and to create sustainable pipelines for potential AmeriCorps members.

This position reports to and works on a day-to-day basis with the VISTA Program Director and interacts with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders from across the higher education sector. This is a full-time, grant-funded, end-date position serving until June 30, 2024.
