Community Based Research Network

In partnership with Temple University’s University Community Collaborative of Philadelphia (UCCP), PHENND worked to establish a network of practitioners of Community Based Research (CBR).  Members of the CBR network included Temple University, Bryn Mawr College, Swarthmore College, University of Pennsylvania and Saint Joseph’s University.  During 2002-2003, bi-monthly meetings were held, minigrants were awarded to fund CBR projects, and workshops were conducted on CBR for both university and community audiences.  This partnership was part of a national initiative of the Bonner Foundation and was funded by the Corporation for National Service.

Even today, PHENND can arrange for a workshop or presentation for your group about community based research, both the theory and the practice, as well as how you can involve youth in CBR activities.  For more information, email Hillary.
