Funding for dropout prevention summits – revised
Posted by on March 29, 2010
State Farm supports dropout prevention summits
In 2008, with the support of State Farm Insurance Company, Philadelphia, Harrisburg and other communities sponsored neighborhood dropout prevention and re-engagement summits, bringing together a wide cross-section of stakeholders to consider and make recommendations on strategies to address Pennsylvania’s dropout crisis.
The summits highlighted the important work that remains to be done to prevent students from leaving school and to re-engage those who do leave. To continue this important work on the local level, State Farm is providing funding to provide Mini Grants to local groups to conduct more local summits this year.
Recently you may have received the Drop Out Regional Summit Mini Grant Request for Proposal. We hope that your organization is considering applying for these funds. There are several very important revisions for you to take into consideration when applying:
1. All applications must be completed, signed and postmarked by Friday, April 30, 2010.
2. Notification will be made to grantees by May 5, 2010.
3. The grant period has been extended, starting May 5, 2010 and ending December 22, 2010.
4. Note: Clarification regarding funding. These mini-grants are being made possible through a grant from State Farm® to the Central Susquehanna Intermediate Unit/Center for Schools and Communities (CSIU/CSC).
