Webinar: Scaling Free Speech Education on Campus – Oct 29
Posted by PEN America on October 20, 2026
As colleges and universities face intensifying debates over protests, polarization and the boundaries of academic freedom and student rights, PEN America has launched a new educational video designed to help students understand free expression before conflict arises.
We are thrilled to announce the launch of “Free Speech on Campus,” a video module featuring real student storytelling, expert commentary, and interactive quizzes, that prepares students to engage thoughtfully across differences while upholding the principles of free expression and open inquiry that are central to higher education.
Developed by PEN America’s Higher Education and Free Expression team, the video training series responds to growing demand from colleges for engaging resources that can be integrated into student orientation, first-year seminars, and online learning platforms.
This webinar will include implementation guidance and direct insight from pilot partners on their experiences using this tool for orientation, first-year experience, residence life, civic engagement, student leadership, and related programming.
Date and Time: Thursday, October 29, 4:00 PM
