Foster Care To College Collaborative Webinar: Money, Speed Bumps, and Opportunity – Guiding Students with Foster Care Experience onto Postsecondary Journeys – Nov 12
Posted by I-Lead USA on October 6, 2026
Please join us on Thursday, November 12, 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM, to learn how you can support foster youth who want to get a postsecondary education.
This practical seminar will help Pennsylvania counselors, social workers, and child welfare professionals support youth in foster care as they transition to postsecondary education. Using real-life scenarios, we will review key financial entitlements—like the PA Fostering Independence Tuition Waiver, Chafee education and training grants, and funding for shorter term training —alongside common challenges, including year-round housing, academic retention, and financial aid navigation. Attendees will leave with clear, actionable steps to help students secure funding and begin their postsecondary journey on a solid foundation. For people who are newly working with older youth in care, this presentation will be especially helpful.
