Call for Manuscripts: From Engagement to Impact: Community Centered Knowledge, Partnerships, Policy, and Public Health Practice in a Post Pandemic Era – Oct 29

The post-pandemic era, combined with historical changes in federal policies, has intensified challenges in trust, knowledge translation, and sustained partnership across public health systems. This Research Topic advances a full circle model linking community engagement to research, policy, practice, and community-centered dissemination—with emphasis on how partnerships function, how knowledge travels beyond journals, and how systems preserve legitimacy and impact amid threats to science and population health programs. Distinct from calls focused primarily on authorship expansion, this collection centers on function, synergy, adaptation, and outcomes across diverse cultural and institutional contexts. Indeed, we employ a syndemic approach to achieving equitable health promotion and disease prevention practices for researchers, clinicians, the community, and community-facing organizations.

The goal of this Research Topic is to clearly articulate meaningful implications for public health practice, systems, and policy by synthesizing existing evidence and well-reasoned analysis. It seeks to move beyond description to demonstrate how findings can inform decision-making, improve interventions, and strengthen population health outcomes. Emphasis is placed on identifying lessons that are adaptable and scalable, rather than limited to one program or context. By highlighting transferable strategies, frameworks, and insights, this work supports broader application across diverse settings, communities, and health systems, ultimately contributing to more effective, equitable, and sustainable public health action at local and global levels.
