Join us for the official premiere of Becoming American: Philadelphia’s Story at the Philadelphia Film Society Center on May 12!
This new documentary explores the founding of the United States through the lens of Philadelphia, America’s first capital.
From Indigenous people and enslaved Africans to lawmakers and artisans, the film reveals how diverse communities shaped a new nation. Though rooted in Philadelphia, this is a shared American story whose debates, ideals, and consequences still resonate today.
Please join us for a screening of the film, followed by a panel discussion with the filmmakers and hosted by Cherri Gregg, co-host of Studio 2
