One Book, One Philadelphia: Stories Between Us: Creativity, Identity, and Belonging – May 18

Posted by Free Library of Philadelphia on May 12, 2026

One Book, One Philadelphia and South Asian Americans For Change present Stories Between Us: Creativity, Identity, and Belonging.

Inspired by Our Missing Hearts by Celeste Ng, this interactive workshop invites participants to explore identity, belonging, family, and intergenerational connection through storytelling, discussion, and collaborative art-making.

Join South Asian Americans For Change (SAAFC) and the Free Library of Philadelphia Foundation for a dynamic 90‑minute workshop that turns reading into conversation and ideas into art. Guided by facilitators Sukanya Kumar and Nidhi Alur, we’ll move through short readings, reflective discussion, and playful creative exercises—from personal storytelling and poetry to visual collage and optional performance.

Date and Time: Monday, May 18, 2026, 6:30-8:00 PM

Location: Parkway Central Library, Montgomery Auditorium, 1901 Vine Street, Philadelphia, PA
