National Apprenticeship Week: Lifting Up National Service as a Workforce Development Strategy
Posted by AmeriCorps on May 5, 2026
National Apprenticeship Week 2026 was celebrated April 26 to May 2, 2026. We’re honored to recognize National Apprenticeship Week with the release of two toolkits that highlight the value of national service as a workforce development strategy and a proven pathway to registered apprenticeships and pre-apprenticeships.
These toolkits include:
- Strengthening Workforce Development and Career Pathways in Your AmeriCorps Program: A new guide from AmeriCorps on integrating workforce development, including registered apprenticeships, into your program using Department of Labor sponsored or approved resources and other tools.
- Leveraging AmeriCorps Programs as a Workforce Development Strategy: A revised guide for organizations, workforce boards, and others focused on workforce development and how AmeriCorps resources and programs can be leveraged to advance their workforce goals.
We encourage you to use or share these toolkits to enhance the career outcomes of your AmeriCorps Volunteers and build new workforce pipelines and partnerships in your community.
Join the celebration: Lift up the workforce pipelines your national service program develops on social media using the #NAW2026 and #ApprenticeshipUSA hashtags.
