New White Paper: Powering Workforce Resilience in the Age of AI: The Case for AmeriCorps
Posted by Partnership for Student Success on April 28, 2026
The traditional “first rung” of the career ladder is undergoing a fundamental shift. As AI automates tasks historically reserved for entry-level roles, young professionals are losing the essential opportunities they need to build professional experience.
To address this challenge, the Partnership for Student Success has collaborated with the EDSAFE AI Alliance, City Year, and Voices for National Service to author a new white paper: “Powering Workforce Resilience in the Age of AI: The Case for AmeriCorps.” The findings highlight how national service can serve as a critical bridge.
Other Key Insights From the Report:
- Impact on Youth Employment: Entry-level job postings have declined significantly as AI takes over rote cognitive tasks, creating new barriers for recent graduates.
- The Importance of Human-Centric Skills: In an AI-driven world, the most valuable professional assets include metacognition, dialogue, and community building.
- AmeriCorps as a Strategic Engine: With a proven 17:1 return on investment, AmeriCorps provides a scalable infrastructure to train a resilient and adaptable workforce.
