Recruiting Summer Meal Sites
Posted by City of Philadelphia Office of Children and Families on April 28, 2026
The City of Philadelphia’s Office of Children and Families, alongside Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Nutritional Development Services, and CBS Food Program is working to expand Summer Meal Sites across the city, and we need your help! Over 100,000 Philadelphia youth experience food insecurity, and many lose access to school meals during the summer. Through the Summer Meals program, community organizations, camps, faith-based groups, and even neighborhood blocks can serve as meal sites for youth 18 and under at no cost.
How you can help:
- Our landing page, has all of the details about how families can find summer meals, receive Summer EBT, and how to apply to become a summer meal site.
- We have a social media toolkit and a newsletter blurb for partners to promote summer meal site recruitment.
- We have Summer Meal Site Recruitment Palm Cards available in multiple languages. Complete this Summer Meal Site Recruitment Palm Card request form to receive physical palm cards to distribute.
- Invite someone to come present about this opportunity at any upcoming community/partner/provider meetings, or invite our office to come table at your events. Email Laura Crandall at laura.crandall@phila.gov
