Posted by Center for Integration & Migrant Support on April 21, 2026

The Center for Integration & Migrant Support (CIMS) here in Philadelphia is currently seeking a motivated Community Programs & Development Intern (Undergraduate or Graduate) to support our mission this summer.

About CIMS: CIMS is dedicated to empowering Philadelphia’s migrant and immigrant communities through holistic support services. Our mission is to facilitate successful integration by providing access to education, linguistic support, and essential community resources. We act as a bridge for families and individuals navigating new systems, ensuring they have the tools—from high school equivalency to STEM pathways—to thrive in their new environment.

The Role: This is a hands-on role perfect for students in Social Work, International Relations, Public Policy, or Nonprofit Management. It is a volunteer/unpaid position eligible for academic credit. The intern will work directly with Ryan Tucker, Program Coordinator on:

  • GED and HiSAT adult education classes.
  • Community outreach to migrant families.
  • Grant writing, donor engagement, and nonprofit operations.

Qualifications: Proficiency in French and/or Swahili is a strong plus and highly preferred (though not required), as we primarily serve French and Swahili-speaking populations. We are looking for candidates with strong writing skills and a passion for community-based advocacy.

Interested candidates should send a resume and a brief cover letter to info@thecims.org. Applications are due by May 15th, though we utilize a rolling admissions process and encourage early submission.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Ryan Tucker at info@thecims.org.
