2025 PACDC Equitable Development Symposium – Nov 12
Posted by Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations on October 21, 2025
Tickets for the 2025 Philadelphia Association of Community Development Corporations (PACDC) Equitable Development Symposium: Investor Ownership of Philadelphia’s Housing, November 12, 2025, 2:00-6:00 PM at the Quorum, 3675 Market Street, #200, Philadelphia, PA, are available now.
Like many cities, Philadelphia has seen an increase in investor purchases of homes. This has been shown to lead to increases in both rental and homeownership housing costs as apartments are rented at the highest rate the market will sustain, and single-family homes are less available for homebuyers. Investor-owned homes have also been correlated with higher rates of blight, code violations, and evictions, which harms both tenants and the broader community.
This Symposium will focus on what taking local control of land looks like in Philadelphia, what we can learn from other cities, and what to expect for the future given changes at the federal, state, and local level. We will also explore solutions that would increase local ownership of housing and preserve affordability. The Symposium will be 2-4:30 followed by a reception.
