Get Ready for the 31st Annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service – Jan 19
Posted by Global Citizen on October 7, 2025
Please join us for the 31st annual Greater Philadelphia Martin Luther King Day of Service, the largest King Day event in the nation, which will take place on the January 19, 2026 federal holiday. Tens of thousands of people from across the region of all ages and backgrounds will come together to honor Dr. King’s legacy of racial and social justice, education, and citizen action on King Day and beyond.
This year’s King Day of Service will focus on Equity in Education, highlighting the urgent need to ensure every student has the tools, resources, and opportunities to succeed. The regional signature site will be where volunteers take part in hands-on service projects, community resources, health services, and more. Among dozens of projects, volunteers will assemble Book Arks, self-standing community book boxes to help expand literacy access in underserved neighborhoods.
To help support your organizing efforts, we invite you to join one of our upcoming Project Development Workshops, designed to give you tools, resources, and technical support (including project planning, outreach, and volunteer recruitment):
