PHENND K-16 Webinar Series: Summer Melt: What the Philadelphia Data Tells Us – Nov 5
Posted by PHENND on October 7, 2025
Summer melt is the phenomenon in which graduating high school seniors who intend to go to college fail to do so in the first fall after graduation. This summer, the School District of Philadelphia released a report on summer melt for the classes of 2022, 2023, and 2024. We will be joined by Drs. Olaniyan and Holden to discuss findings from the report.
In addition, we at PHENND will share a summer melt checklist that we developed after reaching out to area colleges for the information that they provide to incoming students. Please join us to hear about the data, see the checklist and share resources and initiatives that have worked for your programs.
Presenters:
- Motunrayo Olaniyan, Ph.D., Senior Research Associate, Office of Research and Evaluation, School District of Philadelphia
