Volunteers Needed: Historic Fair Hill’s Reading Buddy Program

Historic Fair Hill is looking for Reading Buddies to support our School Partners in Fairhill, North Philly. As a reading buddy, YOU can provide valuable one on one support to young readers and help them to cultivate a lifelong love of learning. Reading buddies are trained and then matched with K-3 students at Julia de Burgos or Potter-Thomas Elementary.
Volunteers meet on a weekly basis with their buddies to read together, practice literacy skills, and build up confidence. We also provide monthly meet ups for volunteers to get additional training and share best practices with one another.
All volunteers must have school mandated clearances.
