College App Classroom Instructor, Heights Philadelphia

Posted by Heights Philadelphia on August 19, 2025

The College App Classroom Instructor is responsible for facilitating Heights’ and the University of Pennsylvania’s Undergraduate Admissions’ college access course, College App Classroom.

The course will run in multiple School District of Philadelphia schools, with one section per school. Each section holds class approximately two days per week (for example, Mondays and Wednesdays). Each class runs for 45-55 minutes; many classes meet in the mornings, during schools’ advisory periods. Instructors will be responsible for three schools, for a total of three to six class meetings per week. Instructors are not responsible for creating any lesson materials; however, instructors will review College App Classroom lesson materials and plan for responding to students’ questions, interests, and learning styles. Instructors are also expected to meet regularly with Heights’ Manager of Partnerships for instructional support.

The College App Classroom curriculum covers key topics in college access. Instructors will gain valuable experience in college access, classroom dynamics, and social-emotional learning. The role includes a total of at least 66 hours of prep time and 60 hours of meeting and training, in addition to instructional hours.
