American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation invites applications for free clinics grant program
The American Academy of Family Physicians Foundation (AAFP) advances family medicine through philanthropy, using humanitarian, educational, and scientific programming to improve health.
AAFP invites applications for its Family Medicine Cares USA (FMC USA) program, which provides monetary grants of up to $25,000 to help open new free clinics. The priority of FMC USA is to support the opening of new free clinics. However, if funds are available, FMC USA also provides grants of up to $10,000 to existing clinics to help care for the uninsured in their communities. Clinics must provide services at no cost to uninsured and medically underserved patients. Clinics that explicitly solicit patient fees or request patient donations: do not qualify for this grant.
To be eligible, applicants have opened or will open within six months of the application deadline date, have received, or are in the process of receiving the National Association of Free and Charitable Clinics Seal of Excellence, and have an AAFP-member family physician who maintains ongoing involvement with patient care at the clinic.
For complete program guidelines and application instructions, see the AAFP website.
Deadline: July 15, 2025
