Please join the Penn Center for Public Health in welcoming Chicago’s Ayesha Jaco Executive Director of West Side United to Penn’s campus. Ayesha’s talk titled “Leveraging Community-led Interventions to Address Social Drivers of Health: Reflections from Ayesha Jaco” will be a key program during Penn Medicine’s Health Equity week.

Come join us on Tuesday, April 08, 2025, 2:00-3:00 PM at the Biomedical Research Building (BRB), 1st floor Gaulton Auditorium, 421 Curie Boulevard, Philadelphia, PA 19104 for an exciting event led by Ayesha Jaco. There will be a meet and greet with Ayesha Jaco immediately following the event from 3:00-4:00 PM.

Ayesha Jaco, a lifelong resident of Chicago’s west side, has dedicated her career to improving the health and economic vitality of the community she grew up in. As Executive Director of West Side United (WSU) founded by Ascension, Cook County Health, Lurie Children’s RUSH, Sinai Chicago & UI Health, she leads programs and partnerships with additional anchor institutions, including nonprofits and churches, who work collaboratively to eliminate the 14-year life expectancy gap between Black and Brown residents on Chicago’s West Side and Chicago’s Loop.
