REAL ID Enforcement – May 7

Starting May 7, 2025, REAL ID will be required for certain activities. Here’s what you need to know:
What Do I Need a REAL ID For?
- Boarding domestic flights
- Entering federal buildings or other locations requiring ID
- Accessing military bases
How Much Does it Cost?
- A one-time fee of $30
- Renewal fee of $30.50 for four-year non-commercial driver’s license or photo ID
What You’ll Need to Apply:
- Proof of Identity: Birth Certificate or valid passport
- Social Security Card
- Two Proofs of Current Address: Recent utility bill, bank statement, or unexpired PA license/ID
- Proof of Name Charges (if applicable): Marriage certificate, divorce document, or court order
Note: A REAL ID is not required to drive, vote, receive federal benefits, access hospitals, or visit the post office.
