The Villanova Initiative for Engaging Women program –VIEW is seeking applicants to apply to our program. The mission of VIEW is to prepare Philadelphia and surrounding area public/parochial high school girls for admission to and success in college immediately upon graduation from high school. Furthermore, we are committed to advancing the lives of girls, in the Philadelphia area and surrounding counties by instilling our pillars of C.L.A.S.S.: Character, Leadership, Academics, Service, and Sisterhood. The students pursue a program of intense academic enrichment in English, Mathematics, Civic Engagement, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), Business, and Visual Literacy. The program is enhanced with advanced computer and information skills and exposure to continuous cultural enrichment. In addition to the academic assistance, VIEW seeks to refine and advance professional and personal skills in our young women.

The VIEW program is a three-year commitment composed of three components throughout the year: fall, spring, and summer. In the fall session, the program offers Saturday workshops that develop interpersonal and professional skills. In the spring session, the program offers Saturday SAT prep workshops in English and Math that assist in preparation for the SAT while providing a foundation in both areas; both sessions are offered to our students beginning in their sophomore year. The summer session is composed of a two-week rigorous academic program that will prepare students for the next year in school through project-based learning. Students selected for the program will be expected to reside on campus starting the summer of 2025. Students accepted to VIEW will participate in activities leading up to the summer program.

We ask Principals, Counselors, and Advisors to share this information with prospective female students as we look to expand our program to reach more young girls. We encourage students, who are interested or nominated, to apply to the VIEW program. The application can be found on our website; the deadline to apply is November 15, 2024. Students who apply and meet the criteria will be invited to interview on November 23^–24, 2024.
