Stanford Democracy Day – Nov 5
Posted by Stanford University on October 1, 2024
Do students on your campus lead efforts related to election-day civic engagement events? Would they like to participate in a virtual, intercollegiate meeting of student leaders of similar events at their respective campuses. Please feel free to pass this invitation along to relevant student leaders. This is a great opportunity to empower students to collaborate across campuses, share lessons learned, and ensure that our respective campuses fulfill their civic missions:
This November, we (Stanford Democracy Day) are initiating a virtual intercollegiate gathering of student civic engagement leaders. We are inviting student leaders from various colleges and universities that have successfully advocated to make Election Day a class-free day to share their civic engagement efforts and create opportunities for cross-campus collaboration in the future. We were impressed by the work being done within your networks and believe that many peer schools can learn from the progress made in developing robust civic engagement programming. Day on Democracy’s Election Map shows just how much support there is across the country––we strongly believe bringing student leaders from different institutions together is critical in building this momentum moving forward.
If you are interested in partnering with us for this gathering, please reach out to kylepark@stanford.edu! We would love to further discuss this idea with you and have your team join us.
