College Poll Worker and Support Staff Program for November 5, 2024 Election

Posted by Delaware County Bureau of Elections on October 1, 2024

The Delaware County Bureau of Elections is honored to partner with our colleges, universities, and trade schools to employ students in the administration of the November 2024 General Election.

At the April 2024 Primary, the Bureau of Elections welcomed 24 college students to assist with the 2024 Primary Election. Of those, five students worked the evening in Media, PA as Poll Worker Return Assistants and 19 students worked various shifts throughout the day at our Chester, PA location as Mail/Absentee Ballot Processors.

This fall, we hope to employ more than 40 college students in the following roles:

  • Poll Worker Training Assistants in the month before Election Day. (These are four-hour assignments that pay $18 per hour. Students may work one or more classes, which are offered weekdays, evenings, and Saturdays.)
  • Poll Worker Return Assistants on Election Night, November 5 ($18 per hour, six-hour shift)
  • Mail/Absentee processors on Election Day, November 5 ($18 per hour, eight-hour shifts, morning, afternoon, night. Paid training required.)

To inquire about these opportunities, contact Tony Oriente at  orientea@co.delaware.pa.us  or call 610-891-6126.
