New eBook: Essentials of Social Innovation: Transforming Leadership
Posted by Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR) on July 30, 2024
Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR) has collected the best of our print magazine and website to create: Essentials of Social Innovation: Transforming Leadership. With contributions from practitioners, academics, and professionals, this collection of the best of SSIR embodies the philosophy that to make social change, we need more than just leadership: We need to change how we think about leadership itself.
The conundrum of leadership in a sector devoted to making change is that we need good leadership if we are to transform the world, but doing so requires reconceiving and re-imagining leadership itself. Because leading change must be a collective effort, leaders must recognize and address power asymmetries and build collective power, and yet discipline in learning how to lead is no less crucial (or practically necessary).
Also, check out the other eBooks in our Essentials series: Design Thinking, Scaling, as well as our Starter Kit, which collects 10 of the most foundational articles in SSIR’s history for change leaders at any point in their journey.
