Parent Youth Assistance Program Counselor (Part Time/Temporary), Rutgers Camden

Rutgers-Camden Community Engagement has been awarded a Congressionally-Directed Award to support Rutgers–Camden working in partnership with the City of Camden and other partners to maximize underutilized city community centers by providing programming to residents of all ages. Counselor will work to support the Parent-Youth Assistance Program (PYA), a mentoring and social services referral program that includes an option for counseling sessions with a licensed Counselor. Familiarity with the City of Camden nonprofit network a plus; we encourage referrals for facilitators from our regular community partners at the City of Camden, the Greater Philadelphia YMCA, and other partners. Outreach to referred families and scheduling sessions with youth and parents. Will need to provide consistent weekly office hours for families.

Will be required to recruit program participants and log hours in RCommunity, powered by GivePulse, an engagement tracking and volunteer matching software. Must be willing to report to multiple community center locations within the City of Camden, NJ. Will need to manage programming schedules and work with both City of Camden and Rutgers-Camden staff; no strategic or organization-level planning required.
