Virtual Inside-Out Educator Trainings

Are You Interested in Attending an Inside-Out Training? You can apply the methodology to your specific discipline.
The Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program is an educational program designed to facilitate dialogue across difference. Inside-Out courses bring together students in a higher education setting (“outside students”) and incarcerated (“inside”) students to study issues of social justice.
The Virtual Inside-Out Training Institute is a comprehensive five-day, 40+ hour intensive training program that covers everything necessary to develop a course in the Inside-Out model. The virtual model includes formerly incarcerated Inside-Out alumni who are involved throughout the training week as coaches.
Topics included during the training are:
- curriculum development;
- setting parameters;
- institutional relationships;
- group dynamics and;
- interactive pedagogical approaches.
The trainings meet Monday to Friday, and the hours vary between 9:00am to 8:30pm EST.
The training dates are as follows:
- #92: May 13 to May 17
- #93: June 3 to June 7
- #94: June 17 to June 21
- #95: July 8 to July 12
- #96: July 22 to July 26
- #97: August 5 to August 9
The trainings are synchronous.
