Call for Workshop Presentations and Conference Info: PRISE Annual Conference – Oct 10

The deadline to apply to present a workshop at our PRISE Annual Conference is October 10th. 45-minute workshops should focus on making STEM relevant to social and environmental issues in classrooms. Each workshop presentation will receive $250.

Exploring and Expanding Ways to Make STEM Relevant

The Second Annual PRISE STEM Educator Conference will support prospective and practicing educators in exploring ways to make STEM relevant and engaging in our communities.

Date and Time: October 28th, 9:30am-3:30pm

Location:  Saint Joseph’s University’s University City campus, 600 South 43rd Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104

Goals of this event include:

• Supporting teachers in providing relevant, social justice-oriented pedagogy that relates STEM to all subjects.
• Engaging prospective teachers and students in exploring STEM issues within their communities.
• Providing resources and opportunities for educators to build their professional network.

This free event is open to High School Students, K-12 and college Educators, and College Students interested in making STEM relevant for students in the Philadelphia area. This event will include a Keynote Speaker, Panel, STEM Resource Tables, Hands-on workshops, Networking Opportunities, Student Poster Session, and Lunch. Act 48 credits are available for teachers.
