Call for Proposals: Pathways to Achieving Civic Engagement (PACE) Conference – Nov 17
Posted by North Carolina Campus Engagement on October 3, 2023
North Carolina Campus Engagement’s PACE conference, February 14, 2024, Guilford College, Greensboro, NC, now in its 26th year, is for faculty, administrators, researchers, community partners, and graduate students who want to gain skills, knowledge and best practice models for a spectrum of community and civic engagement pedagogies and practices. Last year we welcomed 225 participants representing 32 institutions in five states.
Sessions are 60 minutes with three formats: standard, community conversations, and mini-sessions. Standard sessions are invited in four tracks: capacity-building, pedagogy, research & theory, and community partnership development & sustainability.
The 2024 special track is Facilitating Civic and Democratic Engagement. We are seeking presentations on efforts to integrate democratic engagement into campus culture. This may involve efforts to promote civil discourse and dialogue, information literacy, political discussions, open inquiry, election mobilization, public problem solving, or innovative models for strengthening democracy.
CALL FOR PROPOSALS (Deadline: November 17, 2023)
Registration opens on October 9. The fee is $125 per person (for members of NCCE or the Partnership Alliance) and $150 for non-members.
