Documentary Screening: A Hope that Lights the Way – Oct 6

Posted by Mayor's Office of Public Engagement on October 3, 2023

The Mayor’s Office of Public Engagement, with creative direction from the Mayor’s Office of Black Male Engagement (OBME), is telling the stories of redemption, reconciliation, and restoration from community leaders doing the work the end gun violence in Philadelphia. We believe that amidst the heartbreaking narratives in the news, tales of hope are equally present. Our groundbreaking project, A Hope that Lights The Way, reminds residents that there’s still hope in Philly.

We are still eager to share our film and the stories of our community leaders, so join us for our next screening on Friday, October 6, 2023, 6:00-9:00 PM  at the Free Library’s Parkway Central Library, 1901 Vine Sreett, Philadelphia, PA 19103.

About the Film

The documentary features community leaders and organizations, or “Hope Dealers,” who are committed  to changing the narrative around Black men and boys in Philadelphia. A Hope That Lights the Way shines a light on these community-based organizations from all over the city that are investing in our youth and their futures.
