Philadelphia Futures publishes college guide
Philadelphia Futures has released the 20th edition of Step Up to College: Philadelphia’s Guide to the College Preparation, Application, Admissions & Financial Aid Processes.
The comprehensive publication helps Philadelphia students and their families understand the importance of college; select the college that is right for them; navigate the daunting college application and financial aid processes; and successfully make the transition to college life.
A new section on financial literacy focuses on developing money management skills, while additional sections examine such topics as career exploration, creating resumes, family involvement, and area colleges and universities.
Philadelphia Futures distributes over 50,000 copies of the guide, free of charge, to public, parochial, and charter school students in Philadelphia. To reduce the Guide’s footprint on our natural resources, this year’s edition has “gone green,” and is printed in Philadelphia with 100% wind power using soy-based inks on 50% recycled, FSC certified paper. Copies are available in libraries, and from legislative offices and community-based organizations.
