Regional Organizer, Rhizome – Jun 9
Posted by Rhizome on May 30, 2023
Rhizome is a student-led nonpartisan nonprofit launched by 90 Co-Founders. We know that schools are an untapped, sustainable source of civic power for young people and believe all young people deserve support to create a world that they want to live in. We train emerging leaders to revitalize democracy and build a healthier future for their communities.
We are excited to hire Regional Organizers (ROs) who lead our work, refine our model, and build highly impactful Fellowship Chapters. ROs will join a team that supports thousands of Fellows, registers tens of thousands of students to vote, and creates sustainable, student-led spaces in high schools across the U.S.
Regional Organizers work 5 hours per week, are paid $17 per hour, and manage a team of 4 Community Organizers who each recruit and manage Civic Service Fellows who lead actions across 5 high schools.
As a student-led 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Regional Organizers receive voting rights in Rhizome and are put in a position to guide our high-level decision-making. This includes the ability to discuss and vote on goals, vision, and changes to our work environment. It also includes strategic decisions around how we position ourselves to schools, build systems that grow exponentially, and co-create a more welcoming culture. ROs also vote to approve nominees to our Board of Directors, and to decide unified actions we’ll take in future years. Time spent in strategic conversations is compensated fully, as ROs receive hands-on insight around nonprofit leadership, build leadership skills, and learn how democratic decision-making works.
Application deadline: June 9, 2023
