Job Summary 

Secures monetary support for District programs from private foundations, government  agencies, and other sources. Executes strategies to secure new and renew existing grants  in accordance with the established goals and objectives of the District and consistent with  funders’ guidelines. Serves as a liaison to District program offices and schools in the  preparation of grant proposals and meeting with other District staff to initiate, coordinate and  ensure timely completion of the grant application process.

Essential Functions 

  • Reviews and interprets federal, state, foundation and corporate guidelines for funding  proposals; prepares documents to be used in soliciting funds; drafts funding proposals and  applications.
  • Prepares grant Briefing Sheets, which include information about funding sources, type of  grant, stated priorities and the amount of funding available; meets with appropriate District  staff to share prepared information; coordinates the preparation of the grant proposals;  develops schedules for the completion of proposal components for the purpose of  ensuring timely submission of grant applications; reviews completed proposals prior to  submission and provides critical feedback to the preparers.
  • Serves as a liaison between the District and funders during proposal development/revision  processes; confers and meets with funder representatives as needed; works with project  managers and other District personnel to ensure that all required documentation (i.e.  reports, budget revisions, requests for information) is submitted to the funding sources in a  timely fashion.
