Posted by Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center on March 7, 2023

The Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center is offering a summer Fellowship. It’s a paid 12-week Fellowship, an ideal opportunity for an 18-24 year old (must be 18). A background in science is not necessary – just an interest in the environment and in working with people of all ages. This Fellowship is intended to inspire and equip young adults to become ambassadors for the Delaware River. Seeking individuals from or familiar with Center City, North or West Philly.

The Fairmount Water Works Interpretive Center Fellow will specifically:

  • Greet and interact with visitors of all ages at FWWIC, out in the field, along the Schuylkill Trail, and on the water.
  • Gain knowledge needed to give tours of the FWWIC and Mussel Hatchery.
  • Assist in planning and delivery of summer programming and weekend family program activities.
  • Assist in creating teaching tools as needed.
  • Engage varied audiences and represent FWWIC in outreach events.
  • Lead environmental education and summer camp programs, both onsite and offsite.

To apply email a letter of interest to: Stacey Heffernan, Environmental Education Planner, at stacey.heffernan@phila.gov . Cover letter and resume is optional.

The application deadline is April 14, 2023.
