Webinar: Rethinking the Basics: Building Trust, Proximity, and Autonomy with Adult Digital Literacy Learners – Dec 5
Posted by Media Education Lab on November 29, 2022
In this workshop, you will explore the complex and overlapping challenges that adult learners face in building their digital literacy skills and competencies. David Cooper Moore, a media literacy scholar and educator, draws from his work with libraries, city agencies, and nonprofits in Philadelphia, PA to outline a proximity-based model of digital learning that builds learners’ trust and autonomy in “computer basics” and other digital literacy programs. This model enrolls teachers, helpers, and navigators in the work of building programs that meet learners where they are and help them achieve their digital goals.
