One Year of #Teaching1619 Project

We are celebrating one year since we launched the award-winning 1619 Project Education Materials Collection, a web portal designed to build teaching and learning communities around The 1619 Project.
When The 1619 Project was originally published in The New York Times Magazine in August 2019, it not only sparked national conversations on the legacy of slavery in the United States, but also a demand for education resources around the project’s themes. Our Education Materials Collection was launched one year ago with this in mind, to provide a home for free curricular resources and special events, and to support communities of educators eager to carry on these conversations with their students.
