Request for Participants: A Research Study: “How to Recruit and Retain Volunteers: The Reasons or Motivations Why People Volunteer”

Drs. Jeananne Nicholls (DBA) & Kurt Schimmel (DBA), from Slippery Rock University reached out to PennSERVE requesting we share with our programs an opportunity to participate in their research study. In their research they are examining what volunteering offers. Specifically, what activities volunteers participate in, would like to participate in, and what would increase participation or interest in volunteering.  They are in need of as many current/former volunteers as possible to complete the survey to help them assess accurately volunteering and volunteer interests and participation.

We are requesting PennSERVE programs participate in the survey and encourage you to share this request to all of your volunteers/members. Below is language you can adapt to share with your volunteers/members. Any and all participation is welcome.

Survey completion should only take about 15-25 minutes. Respondents must be 18 or older to participate.  To participate, follow this link to the Survey.

Language to share:

We are examining what volunteering offers that is important to you. Specifically, what are the activities you participate in, would like to participate in, and what would increase your participation or interest in volunteering.

We need as many current/former volunteers as possible to complete the survey to help us assess accurately volunteering and volunteer interests and participation. Survey completion should only take about 15-25 minutes. Respondents must be 18 or older to participate.

You are  encouraged to share this information with the associated survey link with all of your volunteers/members.  They too can share the survey with others. By sharing this, you will be helping to encourage additional volunteer responses and improve the data collected. Any and all participation is welcome.
