Keynote Speaker Announced for Virtual Legacy Summer 2022 – Aug 12
Posted by Andrew Goodman Foundation on July 26, 2022
We are excited to announce our keynote speaker for Legacy Summer 2022! On the morning of August 12, David Dennis, Jr., author of The Movement Made Us: A Father, a Son, and the Legacy of a Freedom Ride, will deliver a keynote address that ties back to the Intergenerational Panel of the evening before and that lays the groundwork for an action-packed day of learning and connection to follow. During his address, he will be in conversation with Christina Williams, an Andrew Goodman Ambassador at Clar k Atlanta University.
The son of David Dennis, Sr., a Freedom Rider and Member of AGF’s Advisory Board, David Dennis, Jr. wrote his book in collaboration with his father to explore the story of the Civil Rights Movement and its continuation in the Black Lives Matter Movement. Both father and son — one the architect of Freedom Summer 1964 and one on the front lines today — share their experiences fighting for change.
Register today for this two-day virtual event at legacysummer2022.org and continue checking back, as we reveal more of our lineup of speakers, as well as this year’s Hidden Heroes Awardees! You won’t want to miss this opportunity to hear from father and son about how they — and we — are carrying on the movement for voting rights today.
