Site Coordinator-Youth Inclusion Initiative (full-time/temporary), Rutgers Camden

We are looking for someone to hire ASAP to oversee a summer program that is funded by the NJ Department of Environmental Protection. This person will report directly to Nyeema C. Watson, Ph.D., Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Inclusion and Civic Engagement. This would be a great position for a recent graduate, school teacher or someone looking for a temporary but meaningful position this summer.
The site coordinator for the Youth Inclusion Initiative will be responsible for:
- Recruiting and retaining program participants ages 17-24 from the city of Camden and Pennsauken;
- Serving as the liaison with the NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), ensuring all program requirements for the Youth Inclusion Initiative are met;
- Securing spaces on campus and within the community for participant activities, if needed;
- Administrative oversight – managing student records, transportation, purchasing supplies and materials, processing stipends and assisting students with any obstacles and barriers that may impact participation;
- Supervision of program participants and monitoring participant activities at all program activities across the state of NJ;
- Connecting with Camden city businesses, community-based organizations and stakeholders to develop Camden city-specific programming throughout the program and work with NJ DEP to design and implement a professional job training program;
- Overseeing evaluation and provide formal feedback to NJ DEP;
- Assisting participants with end-of-summer showcase presentations.
Here are some absolutes about the position:
- The length of the position will be from date of hire (within the next three weeks) through September 2022. However, the youth focused portion of the program run July 5 – August 26th and after that date the person will not be needed daily during business hours, the schedule will be flexible from August 26 – September 30, 2022.
- The position can begin immediately once the person passes a background check.
- Valid drivers license and ability to drive a 15 passenger van daily from Rutgers-Camden to various sites across the state of NJ. Work hours daily will be from 8 – 5:00 pm
- Have background and experience in working with young people.
- They do not have to develop programming, the NJ Department of Environmental Protection will develop and implement all programming, this person will be a supervisor of the youth participants to make sure that they get to their program sites and do what is being asked of them.
