Environmental, Peace Projects, New Earth Foundation – Jul 1

Posted by New Earth Foundation on May 31, 2022

The New Earth Foundation was founded in 1997 by John Bigelow Loveland with a vision to assist in creating an enhanced worldwide awareness, manifesting as universal peace and respect for all forms of life, the responsible use of Earth’s resources in sustainable ways, and a common realization that all is interconnected and one.

To that end, NEF invites applications for innovative projects that enhance life on our planet and brighten the future, furthering peace. The foundation will award grants in support of pioneering yet practical projects in many endeavors, including but not limited to environmental initiatives that are working to eliminate pollution and save the planet’s ecosystems; community efforts that create models of social sustainability; educational innovations that prepare youth to become the socially responsible leaders of the future; and strategies that offer economic improvement and opportunities. The foundation particularly seeks projects with the potential to be replicated so that excellent ideas and work can multiply and benefit many.

The foundation prioritizes smaller, newer 501(c)(3) organizations so the gift can make a more significant contribution to the work of the recipient organization.

Candidates must be tax-exempt as defined by section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service. Organizations without such status may apply under an umbrella organization or fiscal sponsor. However, the application must be accompanied by a letter of agreement detailing the project and the nature of the sponsoring organization’s support or involvement.

Letters of inquiry are due July 1, 2022, and selected applicants will be invited to submit a full application by August 2022.

For complete program guidelines, application instructions, and previously supported projects, see the New Earth Foundation website.
